Car Plunges into Reservoir in Łódź, Two Confirmed Dead

A car entered a reservoir in Łódź, Poland, resulting in two fatalities and leaving one person fighting for their life on April 24.

One Survivor Alerted Emergency Services

One occupant escaped the vehicle independently, reaching a road where they flagged down passing cars and called for help. Firefighters arrived within minutes and extracted three individuals from the submerged car: a 19-year-old woman and two men.

Resuscitation efforts were initiated for all three.

Two Deaths Confirmed

Two individuals have died as a result of the incident, confirmed by police from the Skierniewice City Police Headquarters. The victims are a 19-year-old woman who died in Skierniewice hospital and a 19-year-old man who died in Łódź hospital on Friday morning, April 24th.

Man Fights for Life

A 23-year-old man rescued from the BMW remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment in Warsaw.

One Person Detained

The fourth occupant, who self-extricated from the vehicle, did not require medical attention and is currently being held for procedural purposes. An investigation is underway, with authorities analyzing evidence and examining the scene.

Recovery Operation and Response

The vehicle was recovered after police completed their on-site procedures. The fire department reported the involvement of seven vehicles from the State and Volunteer Fire Brigades, including the Specialist Water and Diving Rescue Group from Łódź, along with Medical Rescue Teams and three LPR helicopters.
