Car Strikes Train; Injured Transported by Helicopter

A car collided with a train near Wrocław, Poland, resulting in injuries to the driver and his son, and significant rail disruptions.

Driver Found to Be Intoxicated

Police investigation revealed the 45-year-old BMW driver had a blood alcohol content of 0.6 per mille, constituting a criminal offense.

The train operator was confirmed to be sober, according to Wrocław police commissioner Wojciech Jabłoński, as reported by Wrocław.pl.

Injured Transported to Hospital

The driver and his son were airlifted by LPR helicopter to a hospital for treatment.

Rail Disruptions Reported

The collision caused substantial disruptions to rail traffic between Wrocław and Kobierzyce.

Dolnośląskie Railways announced a temporary halt to services on the Kobierzyce – Wrocław Główny section, with bus replacement services in operation.

Affected stations include Bielany Wrocławskie, Bielawa Centralna, Bielawa Zachodnia, Dzierżoniów Śląski, Kobierzyce, Marcinowice Świdnickie, Sobótka, Świdnica Miasto, Świdnica Przedmieście, Wrocław Główny, and Wrocław Partynice.
