Poland’s Ministry of Infrastructure is proposing an extension until December 31, 2026, for transport operators to prepare required social and sanitary facilities for drivers.
New Deadline for Driver Facility Upgrades
The Ministry of Infrastructure intends to amend regulations concerning the safety and hygiene of public transport drivers. The reason is that many carriers will not be able to prepare the required social and sanitary facilities by the original deadline of April 30, 2026.
Regulations Effective Since April 2025
Regulations that came into effect on April 19, 2025, obligated carriers to adapt dining and sanitary facilities at the ends of transport routes to meet the requirements of § 46 by April 30, 2026.
Requirements for Toilets and Social Rooms
According to the regulation, toilets must meet a number of technical requirements: be connected to water supply, sewage, and power networks, equipped with hygiene products and lighting, and maintained in a clean condition.
For a larger number of drivers, it was necessary to provide an adequate number of sanitary facilities and separate toilets for women and men.
