CBA Seizes Documents at Father Rydzyk’s Foundation, Demands Fund of Justice Records

On Wednesday, 26 November, Central Anti‑Corruption Bureau agents entered Lux Veritatis, seized documents linked to the Fund of Justice, and demanded further materials in a high‑profile probe of Father Tadeusz Rydzyk’s foundation.

Operation at Father Rydzyk’s Foundation

On Wednesday, 26 November, agents of the Central Anti‑Corruption Bureau entered the Lux Veritatis foundation. The mission is now finished, and the seized documents are slated for analysis.

Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Przemysław Nowak announced a mandate to obtain documents concerning grants from the Fund of Justice, and that, if needed, a search would be authorized.

The CBA, acting on the prosecutor’s request, entered Father Tadeusz Rydzyk’s foundation demanding the production of materials for the investigation of the Fund of Justice. “There are no holy cows,” minister of State Coordination of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed.

Fund of Justice Under Scrutiny

TVN24 reports that Lux Veritatis received 12 million zlotys from the Fund of Justice for regular program broadcasts on TVTrwam. The money was earmarked for production, payments to unqualified lawyers, and office rent.

The National Anti‑Corruption Bureau assessed these operations as “inefficient and poorly documented.” The foundation rejected the allegations, saying the auditors’ interpretation was incorrect and inconsistent with regulations.

The Fund of Justice was intended to finance projects aimed at protecting Christian values and national identity.

Further Summons for Father Rydzyk

On 8 December, Father Tadeusz Rydzyk is scheduled to appear at the prosecutor’s office for questioning about financing the Museum “Memory and Identity” in Toruń.

This is not the first action. On 5 December 2024 the CBA entered the foundation’s buildings in Warsaw, Toruń and Wrocław, where the foundation voluntarily handed over documents. In November Deputy Minister of Culture Maciej Wróbel announced that the ministry had sued the foundation for failing to settle the museum construction agreement. The ministry seeks to void the contracts and recover 210 million zlotys plus interest.
