A driver turning left in Warsaw struck pedestrians crossing at an intersection, killing a 5-year-old child.
Accident Details
A Toyota driver turning left onto Grochowska Street from Zamieniecka Street forced priority with a Ford, causing the Toyota to overturn and strike pedestrians on a crossing. Mł. asp. Paweł Chmura of Warsaw Police stated the incident involved four pedestrians. TVN24 cited st. asp. Bogdan Smoter of the fire department confirming the driver hit four people.
Casualties
Justyna Sochacka of the Air Ambulance Service reported six injuries. Three women (aged 30, 34, 45) and a 5-year-old boy were hospitalized. The child’s condition was critical. After 17:00, Mariusz Mazurek of the Children’s Hospital announced the boy, admitted in “death state,” had died despite resuscitation efforts. Two men received on-site treatment.
Witness Account
A witness told Polsat News bystanders initially knelt and filmed instead of calling for help. The witness attempted to resuscitate the child and assisted the derailed Toyota driver alongside another man.
Emergency Response
Firefighters covered the overturned car with a tarp at the intersection. Multiple fire crews, paramedics, and police attended. An Air Ambulance helicopter was dispatched. The entire crossing was blocked by services.

Rerouting occurred at Grochowska/Zamieniecka intersection after 16:00. Warsaw Municipal Transport Authority redirected lines 123, 125, 135, 141, 142, 143, 145, 148, 173, 183, 521, 702, 704, 720, 722, 730 via alternative routes.
