Radio Poznań reported that the boy was not wearing a helmet when the fall occurred.
Rink staff urged helmet use
Rink employees had asked the boy’s parent to fasten a helmet on him, but the request was ignored. According to Dariusz Dereń, operator of the facility, helmets are supplied at the rink but they cannot be enforced.
