A serious traffic collision at a busy Warsaw intersection has resulted in the death of a 6-year-old child after a car rolled over into pedestrians.
Accident Details
A serious traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Grochowska Street and Zamieniecka Street on Praga-Południe (Plac Szembeka). Two vehicles were involved, with one rolling over and crashing into a group of pedestrians waiting at a crosswalk. Four people were injured, and a 6-year-old child was resuscitated at the scene but later died in hospital.
Preliminary Investigation
The accident occurred at one of Warsaw’s busiest intersections. Preliminary findings indicate the Ford driver failed to yield while attempting a left turn from Płowiecka Street, causing a collision with a Toyota traveling straight from Wiatraczna Roundabout. The force of impact was significant, leading to the Toyota rolling over and striking pedestrians who were waiting at the red light.
Emergency Response
Multiple emergency services responded to the scene, including four medical teams, a rescue helicopter, five fire brigades, and police units. The intersection was completely blocked during the operation, with 16 bus lines redirected to alternative routes. Both drivers received medical attention at the scene while police secured evidence and continued their investigation.
