Collision on the S8 Highway

On Saturday, May 23, shortly after 7:00 PM, a serious accident occurred on the S8 route in Wolica, Pruszków County. A Peugeot carrying a woman and three children struck energy-absorbing crash barriers on a near-straight section of the road.

Emergency Response and Air Rescue

Emergency services, including fire brigades, medical rescue teams, and police, were dispatched to the scene. An air ambulance helicopter was deployed to transport the most seriously injured, a 7-year-old child who was ejected from the vehicle through the rear window upon impact.

Accident Circumstances and Injuries

Initial investigations suggest the driver turned to face the children during the trip, at which point the car veered off course, skidded, and struck the barriers. At least one child was reportedly not properly secured in the vehicle. The driver and two other children were transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Traffic and Site Clearance

The highway towards Nadarzyn was closed to facilitate the rescue operation and the landing of the air ambulance. Traffic on the opposite side toward Warsaw was periodically halted. Operations concluded around 8:30 PM, after which the road was reopened.
