CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly visited Poland secretly and met with Polish defense and security officials.
Unconfirmed Secret Visit
CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly visited Poland on a secret visit, according to Paweł Żuchowski, an RMF FM correspondent in Washington. Żuchowski, citing Washington sources, stated that Ratcliffe met with Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak in recent days. The topic of their discussions remains classified.
No Official Confirmation
The Polish Ministry of National Defense has not officially confirmed the visit, requesting that questions be submitted via email. A spokesman for Siemoniak, Jacek Dobrzyński, stated he had no knowledge of such a meeting. Attempts to reach Siemoniak directly were unsuccessful, with questions sent via SMS. The CIA press office has also been contacted for comment, with responses still pending.
Previous CIA Director Visits
Former CIA Director William Burns visited Poland multiple times. In March 2023, he met with then-Minister of Special Services Mariusz Kamiński in Warsaw to discuss challenges related to Russian aggression against Ukraine and the current geopolitical situation. A year earlier, Burns held additional meetings with heads of Poland’s intelligence agencies.
