Cichociemni: Silent Unseen Paratroopers Operated Like Family

Polish WWII paratroopers known as the Silent Unseen flew secret missions in British Halifax bombers, evading German detection while traveling across occupied Europe.

The Halifax Flight

The Silent Unseen flew low to the ground in four-engine British Halifax bombers. This tactical approach made them nearly invisible to German measurement devices and anti-aircraft artillery.

Enemy fighters also had minimal chances of intercepting these specially configured aircraft during their dangerous missions.

Coastal Observations

While flying low, the paratroopers had a unique opportunity to observe Danish cyclists and mist formations hovering over the waters near the Baltic coast.

Mission Path

After their coastal observations, the crew set course for Koszalin, then followed the Bug river toward Wyszków, completing their strategic route through occupied territory.
