Clean Air Program: Ministry Dilemma Over Retaining European Value

Poland’s Ministry of Climate and Environment may propose new EU-based criteria for heat pumps and biomass boilers under the Clean Air program soon.

Ministry Proposes New Criteria

The Ministry of Climate and Environment may unveil revised criteria by month’s end. These would promote EU-made heat pumps and biomass boilers in the Clean Air program. Production within the EU would qualify devices for the ZUM subsidy list.

Protecting European Producers

Vice-Minister Krzysztof Bolesta stated last year the goal is to protect EU producers. He emphasized avoiding spending Polish money on questionable technology. The ministry has since consulted with industry labs, accreditation bodies, and the EU’s DG GROW.
