CNN: WAR WITH IRAN COULD BE POLITICAL DISASTER FOR REPUBLICANS AS TRUMP CIRCLE DIVIDES

CNN reports Trump advisors seeking exit from Iran conflict amid fears of political fallout for Republican Party.

Rising Concerns Among Trump’s Advisors

According to CNN, just days after the attack on Iran, many in Trump’s circle are already looking for ways to exit the conflict. The American attack has raised concerns among the president’s staff and advisors about the political consequences of getting involved in a long-term war without a clear end strategy and without broad public support.

Some advisors and close allies are pressuring Trump to accelerate the timeline and declare victory as soon as possible. Polls show that a war with Iran has limited public support and is causing divisions even among prominent figures in the MAGA movement.

Political Fallout Risks

This situation raises concerns that opposition could spread to the president’s broader electoral base. According to allies and advisors, the situation could worsen with an increase in casualties and the persistent risk of the conflict expanding across the entire region, which would further weaken Republicans’ already slim chances of avoiding defeat in November’s elections.

A Republican strategist and former State Department official in the Trump administration described the potential war as “at best a distraction from the economy, and at worst – a political disaster and a generational tragedy for both Iran and the Republican Party.”

The Venezuelan Scenario Not Feasible

Supporters of Trump are calling on the administration to present a concrete plan for the US to withdraw from the Middle East, fearing that the war is disrupting the Republican election strategy. However, the White House has not presented any plans for this conflict.

Trump himself has given conflicting statements about the war’s duration, first saying it would last for a few weeks, then that he was ahead of schedule, and later that he might lead it “forever.”

Iran Compared to Venezuela

Trump’s environment had hoped for a “Venezuelan scenario” – a quick overthrow of the opponent’s leadership and offensive capabilities, allowing for a quick declaration of victory and a return to domestic issues before the elections.

However, CNN assessed that Iran is a much more complex case with fewer predictable scenarios and greater risk. As one Trump advisor noted, for ordinary people, “it will matter where we will be in four months,” adding that “as always, it’s about the same thing: do electricity bills go down, do food prices decrease?”
