At 10:47 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, a Dacia SUV struck a Mercedes‑powered mortuary car at the Wybrzeża Gdyńskiego and Krasińskiego intersection in Wisłostra, causing no serious injuries.
Immediate Response
Firefighters, a medical rescue team and police rushed to the site, securing the intersection and the two vehicles involved. On arrival, no serious injuries were reported.
Investigation Findings
Preliminary police statements attribute the crash to an improper lane change, which caused the Dacia and the Mercedes‑based mortuary coach to collide on one of Wisłostra’s main arteries. Both vehicles sustained damage.
Medical Assessment
A single individual participating in the incident was examined on site. The assessment showed no need for hospital transport. Officers confirmed that both drivers were sober and possessed the necessary licences.
Handling the Deceased
Special attention was given to the remains transported in the mortuary coach. A second mortuary vehicle arrived, to which a coffin was transferred, ensuring continued safe transport in line with established procedures.
