Three cars crashed on Poland’s A2 highway near Pruszków at 15:56, blocking two lanes; the driver of a Volkswagen was fined.
Collision Details
At 15:56, a vehicle collision occurred on the A2 highway near the Pruszków junction, heading toward Warsaw. Two traffic lanes were temporarily blocked. The incident began when the driver of a Volkswagen Golf switched from the left lane to the right lane, colliding with a Toyota traveling on the right lane. The Toyota then struck another Volkswagen moving in the same direction. The impact force drove the Volkswagen into fixed crash‑barriers before the vehicle came to rest on the lane.
Medical Response
Firefighters, police, and medical rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Two occupants of the involved vehicles were examined on site by medical responders. No one required transfer to a hospital, and the incident was classified as an ordinary road collision.
Traffic Impact
The two A2 lanes heading toward Warsaw were blocked, leaving traffic to use only a single lane. This caused delays and slowed passage across the Pruszków junction. After the removal of damaged vehicles and debris, traffic flow was gradually restored.
Driver Penalty
The investigation identified the Volkswagen driver as the fault party for not exercising caution during the lane change. She was fined 3,000 PLN and received penalty points under the applicable tariff scheme.
