Czech operator Regiojet expands Polish routes after December launch hiccups, forcing PKP Intercity to cut fares.
Regiojet Expands Polish Network
Following a rocky December debut where Regiojet failed to launch three-quarters of its announced connections, the Czech operator is scaling up operations. From the third week of January, it runs four daily round-trips between Warsaw and Kraków, and three between Warsaw and Tricity.
On February 1, two daily round-trips from the capital to Poznań commenced, increasing to six by March 1. The cheapest class fare ranges from 27 to 39 złoty.
LeoExpress Launches Services in March
On March 1, the second Czech carrier, LeoExpress, will begin operations. It will launch two daily round-trips between Warsaw and Kraków, with fares starting at 34 złoty. A week later, it will increase its Kraków-Prague services from two to four round-trips weekly.
In June, LeoExpress plans to introduce a route connecting Przemyśl via Kraków, Prague, Dresden, and Frankfurt am Main.
