Ewa Zajączkowska‑Hernik Steps Down as District President

Eurodeputy Ewa Zajączkowska‑Hernik revealed that she has relinquished her role as president of the Confederation’s Warsaw‑area district, known as New Hope. The decision was taken by party leader Sławomir Mentzen. Zajączkowska‑Hernik described the experience as “incredibly valuable” and expressed gratitude for the district’s integration and the many dedicated, hardworking Poles in the area.

New Political Direction for the Politician

Zajączkowska‑Hernik added that she intends to “take politics to a new level.” She said she is confident the coming year will be “exceptional and breakthrough” and that the party must prepare a strong push ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections, which she believes will be pivotal for Poland’s future.

Mentzen responded with a comment thanking her for her work: “Thank you for your work in the district! The coming years will certainly be a period of hard and important struggle to defend Polish interests in the European Parliament.”

At the end of November, Zajączkowska‑Hernik hosted Grzegorz Braun on her YouTube channel, sparking speculation that she might move to the new party Korona. During the interview, Mentzen “welcomed” the eurodeputy to the “wide firefighting front.” In response, Zajączkowska‑Hernik emphasized that she remains a member of the Confederation, led by Bosak and Mentzen.

Polling Edge for Braun’s Korona

In recent surveys, Braun’s Korona is gaining traction. A recent poll by the national research group Ogólnopolska Grupa Badawcza showed Korona slightly ahead of the Confederation. The Opinii24 poll released on Monday gave Korona 8.6% support, just 2 percentage points below the Confederation.
