On December 3, Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal declared the Communist Party of Poland’s objectives and activities unconstitutional, ordering the party’s removal from the registry after a request filed by the president and reiterated by Karol Nawrocki.
Verdict by the Constitutional Tribunal
The court’s ruling stated that the goals and activities of the Communist Party of Poland are incompatible with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, thereby mandating the party’s delegalisation.

The request to the Tribunal was initially lodged by the president of Poland. Karol Nawrocki later reaffirmed the same request, echoing a submission made in 2020 by former justice minister and prosecutor general Zbigniew Ziobro.
Party Removal from the Registry
Under the law governing political parties, a court decision declaring a party unconstitutional compels the court to immediately issue an order removing the party’s entry from the official registry.
