Paweł M. was detained on 23 October 2025 following the prosecutor’s directive by CBA officers. Alleged Influence on State Institutions
Investigators allege that the former deputy minister used influence over public institutions and state‑owned companies from 2016 to 2021, particularly within the Office of the Prime Minister and firms with State Treasury participation. He is also accused of attempting to secure procurement contracts for the company of Pawel S.
Bribes and Material Benefits
In exchange for facilitating these contracts, the suspect demanded employment of his then‑wife at Pawel S.’s firm and was granted free use of a premium‑class vehicle, with leasing and operating costs covered by Pawel S. The benefit is estimated at a minimum of 60,000 zł.
Legal Framework and Penalties
The alleged acts fall under Article 228 § 1 of the Criminal Code (receiving property benefits) and Article 230 § 1 (using influence in public institutions), carrying a potential sentence of up to eight years’ imprisonment.
