Could Trump’s Peace Council Replace the UN? Czarnek: It Might Be a Good Idea

Polish politician Przemysław Czarnek commented on Donald Trump’s Peace Council, suggesting it might replace the ineffective UN.

Czarnek: The Putin-Lukashenko Pairing is Unpleasant

Przemysław Czarnek appeared on Wednesday, January 21, in the “Graffiti” program on Polsat News. The PiS vice-president commented on Donald Trump’s developing Peace Council. The American president invited leaders of about 60 countries, including Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. Czarnek stated, “The Putin-Lukashenko pairing is indeed not pleasant.”

But if we look at the UN, everyone is there, not just Lukashenko and Putin. Therefore, it is probably not a problem.

Peace Council Instead of UN? Czarnek: It Might Be a Good Idea

According to Czarnek, the United Nations has been completely ineffective for some time. “In the UN Security Council, there are countries that primarily care for dictatorships to thrive and for no one to be punished for what they do, even Russia for crimes in Ukraine. So replacing the UN Security Council with the Peace Council, which in this case would primarily oversee the Gaza Strip but not only, as it will extend further, might be a good idea,” said the PiS vice-president.

Donald Trump: UN Potential Never Fully Realized

The Peace Council is to oversee the activities of the temporary “Palestinian technical government” in the Gaza Strip and help resolve other conflicts worldwide. On Tuesday, Donald Trump was asked during a conference at the White House if the Peace Council would replace the UN. The US president replied that it might happen.

The UN simply hasn’t been too helpful. I am a great supporter of the UN’s potential, but it has never been fully utilized. The UN should have resolved every war that I resolved.

Donald Trump to Head the Peace Council

Donald Trump will become the chairman of the Peace Council. Its composition will also include, among others, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, US President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, American businessman Marc Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Trump advisor Robert Gabriel.

Associated Press reported that leaders of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Vietnam, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Argentina have already agreed to join the Peace Council. Polish President Karol Nawrocki was also invited. He has not yet informed whether he will join this body.
