Courier Van Thief Crashes During Police Chase, Dies

A suspected car thief died after crashing a stolen courier van while fleeing police in Miłosław, Poland on January 19.

Stolen Vehicle Leads to Police Chase

A Ford Transit delivery van belonging to a courier company was stolen around 14:30 on January 19 in Kórnik, Greater Poland Voivodeship. Municipal monitoring operators noticed the theft and alerted authorities.

The suspect began fleeing in the direction of Września, prompting local municipal police to begin pursuit of the vehicle.

Crash Results in Fatalities

In Miłosław, the driver lost control of the stolen Ford Transit and crashed into a tree. Despite immediate resuscitation attempts, the driver could not be saved.

Andrzej Borowiak from the Provincial Police Command in Poznań confirmed the death, noting that resuscitation efforts failed to restore vital functions.

Investigation Underway

Adam Wojciński from the Września District Police Command described the violent impact, stating that the force was so great the man was “literally thrown out of the vehicle.”

Although the man survived the initial impact with the tree, his circulation stopped after several minutes. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident.
