On Tuesday, the District Court in Gdańsk rejected appeals and upheld 15‑ and 6‑year prison sentences for Krystian W. (nickname Krystek) and Marcin T., the former head of Sopot’s Zatoka Sztuki club.
Appeals Rejected, Sentences Upheld
On Tuesday, the District Court in Gdańsk decided not to accept the appeals filed on behalf of defendants Krystian W. (nickname Krystek) and Marcin T. Both men were ultimately sentenced to 15 and 6 years in prison, respectively.
The court noted that a higher court had partially approved the appeal of the other two defendants and reduced their sentences to one year, with suspended execution for two years.
Background of the Charges
In February last year, the Municipal Court in Wejherowo convicted Krystian W. of 15 years in prison for exploiting minor girls at the Zatoka Sztuki club in Sopot, an act involving 65 alleged offences, of which 40 were sexual offences against 33 victims.
The prosecutor alleged attempted rape, rape, and sexual contact with minors under 15, with five victims in the case; Krystek was also accused of witness intimidation, falsifying documents, insurance fraud, and extortion. He was convicted of 63 counts, absolved of two, and sentenced to the penalty requested by the prosecutor.
Owner Faces Prison Term
Krystian W. worked for Marcin T., who owned several clubs in Sopot, including Zatoka Sztuki. Marcin T. faced five sexual offence charges. He claimed innocence and ignorance of Krystian W.’s actions, yet the court found him guilty and imposed a prison term.
