The court in Kielce has ordered a reinvestigation into the death of 8-year-old Kamil from Częstochowa, focusing on institutional responsibility.
Court Orders Reinvestigation into Kamil’s Death
On Thursday (January 15), the District Court in Kielce granted the appeal of the representatives. This means investigators will once again deal with the case of institutional responsibility for Kamil’s death from Częstochowa. This concerns the actions of courts, prosecutor’s offices, police, and social workers in this case. At the same time, the appeal regarding doctors and teachers was dismissed – reports the Polish Press Agency. The ruling is final.
Charges Filed Against Mother and Stepfather
On May 8, 2025, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk submitted an indictment to the District Court in Częstochowa against four individuals who were allegedly involved in the death of 8-year-old Kamil. This concerns the boy’s mother Magdalena B., stepfather Dawid B., as well as Aneta J. and Wojciech J. As the prosecutor’s office stated at the time, Dawid B. was charged with “the murder of his 8-year-old stepson Kamil M. committed under conditions of recidivism, with particular cruelty.” He was also accused of psychological and physical abuse of his stepsons: Kamil and 7-year-old Fabian, as well as the sexual abuse of a minor victim – this concerns “at least twice bringing a girl under 15 to submit to another sexual act, consisting of touching her in intimate areas.”
Mother and Stepfather Face Additional Charges
Magdalena B. was charged with “assisting her husband Dawid B. in the murder of her 8-year-old son Kamil by leaving the victim in a state of immediate danger of losing life.” The woman was also charged with “assisting Dawid B. in the physical and psychological abuse with particular cruelty against (…) 8-year-old Kamil M. and 7-year-old Fabian M. (…) as well as physical and psychological abuse (…), and also at least twice exposing Kamil M. to immediate danger of losing life or serious harm to health.” Aneta J. and Wojciech J. were charged “with failing to assist 8-year-old Kamil M., who was in a position of immediate danger of losing life, although the accused could have helped the victim.”
