Court Orders Three-Month Arrest for 39-Year-Old in Minor Sexual Abuse Case

A 39-year-old man has been arrested for three months in connection with sexual abuse of minors in Ostrołęka and Warsaw.

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka announced on January 14, 2026, that the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka is conducting an investigation against Tomasz M. [39] suspected of committing sexual offenses against minors under 15 years of age and presenting pornographic content to minors. The District Court in Ostrołęka has applied a three-month temporary arrest for the suspect.

Specific Allegations

Tomasz M. has been charged with raping minors under 15, using dependency to compel them to engage in other sexual acts, and presenting them with pornographic content. According to press spokesperson Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, these acts qualify under articles 197 §4, 200 §1, 200 §3, and 199 §2 of the Criminal Code.

The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the suspect committed the offenses “in Ostrołęka and Warsaw between July 2022 and August 2025.” During this period, the suspect “deceptively raped two minors and repeatedly used dependency to compel the victims to submit and perform other sexual acts.” It was also noted that “in the summer of 2022 in Warsaw, he presented pornographic content to children.”

Court Proceedings

During interrogation at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, Tomasz M. did not admit to the charges presented and provided explanations. The District Court in Ostrołęka has applied a preventive measure in the form of a three-month temporary arrest against Tomasz M.

Potential Penalties

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that for the alleged offenses, “including the crime of raping minors,” the penalty is “imprisonment from 5 to 30 years or life imprisonment.”

The spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka noted that due to the interests of the victims, further information about the case will not be disclosed. “Regarding the details of the events Tomasz M. committed against minors, due to the best interests of the minor victims and their nature, we cannot inform the public or media representatives.” It was added: “The suspect’s behavior has been described in the charges presented to him.”
