On Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 3:01 p.m., police files concerning the 11‑year‑old were lodged with the Jelenia Góra District Court. The case was registered and assigned to a judge that same day, and a court session involving the 12‑year‑old suspect was held.

Tragedy Details

The 11‑year‑old was found about 200 metres from her school. Body‑guarding medical teams arrived after the girl was already deceased, and she displayed injuries inflicted by a sharp tool. Authorities seized a knife identified as a “finka” and arrested the 12‑year‑old who attended the same school.

Background of Suspect

The 12‑year‑old and the victim were not classmates but shared the same school. The suspect reportedly had prior legal problems according to the district prosecutor’s press office.
