Court Reopens Case of 8-Year-Old Kamil’s Death from Częstochowa

The Kielce court has ordered a reinvestigation into institutional failures linked to the death of 8-year-old Kamil from Częstochowa.

Court Reinstates Investigation

On Thursday (January 15), the District Court in Kielce granted an appeal by the representatives, instructing investigators to re-examine institutional responsibility for Kamil’s death. The ruling covers actions by courts, prosecutors, police, and social workers, while dismissing the appeal regarding doctors and teachers. The decision is final.

Charges Filed Against Mother and Stepfather

On May 8, 2025, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk indicted four individuals connected to Kamil’s death: his mother Magdalena B., stepfather Dawid B., and Aneta J. and Wojciech J. Dawid B. faces charges of murdering his stepson with particular cruelty and abusing other children.

Magdalena B. is accused of assisting in the murder and abuse, while Aneta J. and Wojciech J. face charges for failing to assist Kamil despite being able to help.

Indictment Details

Dawid B. is charged with the “murder of his 8-year-old stepson Kamil M. under recidivist conditions, with particular cruelty,” as well as physical and psychological abuse of his stepsons and sexual molestation of a minor. Magdalena B. is accused of leaving Kamil in immediate danger of death.

Aneta J. and Wojciech J. were charged with failing to assist Kamil M., who was in a life-threatening situation, despite their ability to help.
