CPK Airport Tender: Price Spread Over 2 Billion Between Bids

A key tender for Poland’s Baranów airport shows a massive price gap between bids, ranging from PLN 1.585 to PLN 3.483 billion.

Significant Price Variation in CPK Tender

Rarely in tenders announced by public purchasers do we have such a large price spread. In the proceedings for the main contract engineer, who is to supervise the implementation of the airport in Baranów, the cheapest offer, submitted by a consortium with Hill International at the helm, amounts to PLN 1.585 billion.

The most expensive, submitted by a consortium with MGGP, is worth PLN 3.483 billion, which is more than twice as much.

Multiple Consortiums Submit Bids

In addition to these extremes, three more proposals were submitted. Two are slightly more expensive than the cheapest. Their value is: PLN 1.762 billion (consortium with Dar Al-Handasah Poland) and PLN 2.126 billion (consortium with Ch2M Hill Polska).

The third is close to the most expensive and amounts to PLN 3.246 billion (consortium with Artelia at the helm). The purchaser’s estimate is PLN 2.933 billion.
