The 160‑hectare plot earmarked for Poland’s Central Communication Port will be returned to the Treasury, and former Agriculture Minister Robert Telus has been urged to apologize for the controversy.
Decision to Return Land to State
On Wednesday, Henryk Smolarz, head of the National Farm Support Centre, announced that the 160‑hectare plot meant for the Central Communication Port will revert to the Treasury.
The land, sold to a private buyer for over 22 million zloty in December 2023, will now return without imposing extra costs on the state, as the buyer, Dawtona vice‑president Piotr Wielgomas, waived all claims on expenditures.
Lawmaker Calls for Apology
The plot was sold in the final two weeks of the PiS government in 2023, prompting Jarosław Kaczyński to suspend membership rights of several PiS figures, including former Agriculture Minister Robert Telus and former deputy minister Rafał Romanowski.
Bolesław Piecha, a PiS MP, told Super Express that Telus should apologize for the CPK affair, take responsibility, and stop giving convoluted explanations, hoping the matter will be clarified.
Telus Denies Involvement
Telus stated he had no knowledge of the sale of plot 87/1 in Zabłotnia, pointing out that none of his signatures appear on the documents and the case never reached his office.
He added that if part of the land is required for CPK‑related infrastructure such as railway tracks, the sale contract and land register permit its immediate re‑purchase at the sale price, causing no loss to the state.
