Cyclist Struck by Delivery Van at Mokotów Intersection, Airlifted to Hospital

Shortly after noon, a cyclist was hit by a delivery truck at the Puławska‑Goworka intersection in Mokotów, and was flown to hospital by an emergency helicopter.

Incident Details

At just after noon, a cyclist collided with a delivery truck at the intersection of Puławska and Goworka streets in Mokotów. The cyclist entered the intersection on a red light, directly opposite a properly traveling delivery vehicle.

When the truck driver attempted to avoid the collision by turning left, the right side mirror struck the cyclist, causing the rider to be struck and fall.

Emergency Response

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. No free medical crews were available, so the LPR helicopter “Ratownik12” was deployed.

Firefighters from Rescue‑Fire Unit No. 3 secured the helicopter landing zone, and the cyclist was transported by air to a nearby hospital.

Investigation Status

The Warsaw Road Traffic Department is investigating the incident, calculating liability and determining the detailed circumstances.

During the rescues, the lane toward the city center was blocked.
