Czarnek and Bosak Clash Over Right-Wing Coalition in Krakow

Przemysław Czarnek publicly urged Confederation leaders Krzysztof Bosak and Sławomir Mentzen to form a right-wing coalition for the upcoming Krakow mayoral election, sparking a sharp public disagreement between the two parties.

Czarnek’s Appeal for Right-Wing Unity

On Friday, Przemysław Czarnek of PiS reached out to Krzysztof Bosak and Sławomir Mentzen, arguing that a unified right-wing front is essential to prevent a candidate aligned with Donald Tusk from winning in Krakow. Czarnek suggested that past cooperation proved successful in local referendums and that a similar alliance is necessary to secure victory in the Małopolska capital.

Bosak Rejects Tactical Maneuvering

Krzysztof Bosak responded dismissively, noting that his party had already scheduled the presentation of its own candidate, Michał Klimek, for the following day. He criticized Czarnek for conducting such high-stakes negotiations through media channels at the last minute, describing the appeal as a tactical ploy that saturates the debate with hypocrisy and perversity.

Differing Perspectives on Election Strategy

Bosak asserted that the two parties hold fundamentally different views and should run separate campaigns, suggesting that any coalition discussions could potentially occur only in a runoff. Czarnek, however, remained persistent, expressing disappointment at the response while insisting that a divided right-wing will only cede Krakow to a liberal-left candidate. He concluded by reiterating his invitation for private talks, urging Confederation leaders to reconsider the proposal.
