On Thursday, Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced he will run for party chairman before the New Left congress on Sunday, December 14.
Pre‑Congress Strategy
Czarzasty said leaders who will shape the party’s management met earlier to discuss a prospective leadership slate, which will later be presented to the congress delegates for approval.
He emphasized the need to avoid public disputes and keep the atmosphere constructive as the party prepares for the upcoming gathering.
Leadership Candidates Proposed
He proposed that Agnieszka Dziemianowicz‑Bąk, Tomasz Trela and Krzysztof Gawkowski join the party’s leadership.
Gawkowski, who is also Premier, would become the first deputy chair of the party.
Party Stability Focus
Czarzasty argued that the right time is when the party and the government it co‑creates need stability over internal power struggles.
He stated that the main concern is the formation’s trajectory, the government’s fate, and the stability Poland will need for the next two years.
