CZARZASTY SAYS THIS IS HOW THE USA AFFAIR BEGAN

Polish Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty sparked a diplomatic row by criticizing Trump and refusing to support his Nobel nomination.

Czarzasty’s Statements on US Relations

On Monday (February 2), Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced his decision regarding the Nobel nomination for Donald Trump. Czarzasty stated: “The world is standing at the threshold of epochal change. The order based on international law is unfortunately slowly fading into the past. Europe must take responsibility for its security.”

He emphasized that thinking “this doesn’t concern Poland” and that American soldiers will continue to be stationed here is illusory. “Americans are our ally. NATO is a guarantee of our security. Russia is a deadly enemy. The West is allies. The European Union is allies,” he added.

Czarzasty concluded: “I will not support the Nobel nomination for President Trump because he does not deserve it.”

US Ambassador’s Response

On Thursday (February 5), the US ambassador to Poland announced that he is breaking contacts with the politician. “We will no longer maintain contact or communicate with Marshal of the Sejm Czarzasty, whose outrageous and unjustified insults against President Trump have become a serious obstacle to our excellent relations with Prime Minister Tusk and his government,” wrote Tom Rose.

“We will not allow anyone to harm Polish-American relations or show disrespect to Donald Trump, who has done so much for Poland and the Polish nation,” Rose stated.

Political Reactions

Czarzasty’s comments have sparked political controversy in Poland, with various parties issuing statements regarding the diplomatic situation with the United States.
