Sejm Marshal Czarzasty’s rejection of a Nobel Prize for Trump has caused a diplomatic rift with the US Ambassador.
Czarzasty Consulted Foreign Ministry Before Trump Nobel Statement
Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News revealed that Włodzimierz Czarzasty consulted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before making his statement on a Nobel Prize for Donald Trump. The journalist noted that the Sejm Marshal “consulted the entire statement.”
Additionally, the host mentioned that Law and Justice demanded a secret Sejm meeting, and the Left party politician may agree to this request. This came in the context of a National Security Council meeting whose agenda includes “clarification of eastern social and business contacts of Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty.”
US Ambassador Responds to “Unjustified Slanders”
On Monday, February 2, the Sejm Marshal announced his decision on the Nobel Prize application for the US President, stating “I will not support the application for Nobel Prize for President Trump, because he doesn’t deserve it.” These remarks angered the US Ambassador to Poland, Tom Rose, who announced breaking contacts with the politician.
“We will no longer maintain contacts or communicate with Sejm Marshal Czarzasty, whose outrageous and unjustified slanders against President Trump have become a serious obstacle to our excellent relations with Prime Minister Tusk and his government. We will not allow anyone to harm Polish-American relations or show disrespect to Donald Trump, who has done so much for Poland and the Polish nation,” Rose stated, adding that Trump is “the greatest friend Poland has had in the White House.”
Democrats Comment on “Petty Crusade” Remark
“Breaking diplomatic relations with an ally because of a petty and undeserved crusade by Trump for the Peace Nobel Prize… only confirms the opinion of him as a transactional person and acting on strength.” Democratic members of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee made this comment regarding the US Ambassador’s statement on the X platform.
