Evidence points to deliberate sabotage
TVN24 reporter on the scene confirmed the damage was intentional. Police and Railway Protection Guard inspected the site and reported metal pieces fixed to the rails and unrelated telecommunication equipment was found in proximity.
Network was precisely cut
Onet reported that the traction wire was cleanly sliced, suggesting an attempt to steal it. The source cited a fragment of sheet metal, a drained phone, and a power bank, all seized by authorities.
Ministerial and military responses
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the incident as a sabotage act that also occurred near Życzyn, close to the PKP Mika station. No injuries were reported, and a ministerial meeting was convened by the Interior Ministry.
The Ministry of National Defence said armed forces would inspect a 120‑kilometre rail stretch near Garwolin, up to Hrubieszów. The 25th Light Infantry Battalion from Zamość is among the units involved.
