Dangerous Driver Fined After Police Interrupt BMW Drift

New Regulations Effective 2026

Significant changes to traffic regulations will come into effect in 2026, aimed at improving road safety and effectively combating the most dangerous behaviors on roads. Among new types of offenses is so-called drifting, which is the intentional introduction of a vehicle into a skid.

Police Intervention in Nowy Duninów

Last Saturday (February 28), police officers from the Nowy Duninów police station stopped a dangerously irresponsible BMW driver for a road check. The officers heard the loud noise of the vehicle’s engine from a distance and soon after spotted the drifting vehicle in the town center. During the inspection, it turned out that a 20-year-old was behind the wheel.

Consequences for the Driver

According to the new regulations, the driver was fined 1,500 Polish zloty and received 10 penalty points.

Future Drifting Penalties

We remind that in the case of intentional drifting or driving on “one wheel,” the driver’s license will be suspended for 3 months. These regulations will come into effect on March 30, 2026.
