Dangerous Tree Leans Over Building in Warsaw’s Białołęka District

Firefighters intervened on April 6th in Warsaw’s Białołęka district to address a dangerously leaning tree threatening a building.

Fire Department Intervention

On Monday, April 6th, firefighters responded to a report of a dangerously tilted tree overhanging a building on Zawiślańska Street in Warsaw’s Białołęka district.

Due to the difficult terrain, a specialized high-angle rescue group from fire station JRG7 was also dispatched.

Threat Assessment and Response

The report concerned a tree posing a threat to the building and its surroundings. The tree’s position and the conditions on site necessitated the support of firefighters equipped for high-angle work.

Firefighters from the JRG7 high-angle rescue group used rope techniques to safely remove the hazard, securing the building and eliminating the risk of an uncontrolled fall.

Multi-Unit Response and No Injuries

A crew from the Fire Academy, JRG7, and the city’s operational group worked at the scene. No one was injured during the incident.

Widespread Storm Damage

The intervention in Białołęka was one of many undertaken by firefighters due to strong winds. Warsaw firefighters responded to approximately 200 incidents on Monday involving fallen trees, damaged power lines, roofs, and overhanging elements.

As of Tuesday morning, another 70 interventions had been recorded.

Ongoing Hazards and Public Appeal

Strong wind gusts continue to pose dangers throughout the capital. Authorities are urging caution near trees, scaffolding, signs, and loose building elements.
