Poland’s IMGW issues second-level weather alerts for thawing in Subcarpathian region amid widespread warnings.
IMGW Warnings About Thawing
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued second-level warnings about thawing. Alerts will be valid until 8 AM on Friday, February 13. They concern two districts in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship – Lesko and Bieszczady.
Freezing Precipitation and Dense Fog
First-level warnings about thawing have been issued for parts of the Masovian, Lublin, Łódź, and Subcarpathian voivodeships. In some regions, first-level alerts are also in effect regarding dense fog and freezing precipitation.
Fog warnings are in effect in the voivodeships of Pomerania, West Pomerania, Kuyavia-Pomerania, Greater Poland, and Warmia-Masuria. Freezing precipitation warnings have been issued for the voivodeships of Pomerania, Warmia-Masuria, Podlaskie, Kuyavia-Pomerania, Masovian, and Lublin.
Rapid Water Level Rise and Hydrological Drought
A first-level warning about a rapid rise in water levels is in effect in the San River basin along with the Solina reservoir. Meanwhile, a hydrological drought persists in the Vistula River basin from the mouth of the Przemsza to the mouth of the Prądnik, as well as in the Kamienna River basin.
IMGW Weather Forecast for Thursday
IMGW forecasts that on Thursday, rain or drizzle may occur in many regions, with rain mixed with snow and snow in the north and northeast. Freezing rain, freezing rain mixed with snow, or freezing drizzle causing black ice will appear periodically in the north and northeast.
Temperatures are expected to be 0 degrees Celsius in Suwałki region, around 4 degrees in the center, 11 degrees in the west, and 13 degrees in the south.
