A 52-year-old driver struck two pedestrians after mounting a sidewalk in Bardo on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in fatalities before his vehicle collided with another car and a wall.
The Incident in Bardo
The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday before 5:00 PM in Bardo, located in the Ząbkowice district. Police report that a Toyota driven by a 52-year-old local resident veered onto the sidewalk for unknown reasons, striking two pedestrians.
Following the impact with the pedestrians, the vehicle ricocheted off a wall and collided with an oncoming Toyota driven by a 41-year-old resident of the Kłodzko district.
Casualties and Investigation
Both pedestrians struck by the vehicle died at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that the 52-year-old driver was sober at the time of the collision.
Police and emergency services are currently on-site conducting an investigation to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
Traffic Disruptions
The road in the vicinity of Główna Street in Bardo remains blocked. Law enforcement has urged drivers to follow instructions from officers and utilize alternative routes while the site remains under investigation.
