A 57-year-old cyclist was hit by a BMW driver on September 27 at 17:32 on the provincial road DW705 in Brochów, Sochaczew County. The driver, traveling in the same direction from Tułowice toward Sochaczew, struck the cyclist with significant force, throwing the victim and their bike into a roadside ditch.

Driver’s actions and aftermath

Witnesses reported that the BMW driver stopped, checked the situation, then left without assisting. Several passengers were reportedly in the car. About two hours later, a 26-year-old suspect turned himself in to police, testing at 1 promille alcohol. Blood samples were taken for further analysis, including retrospective and drug tests. Investigations continue, with the suspect likely to be questioned tomorrow or Monday. Authorities are also gathering witness statements about the passengers.

Investigation and road closure

Police secured evidence and conducted procedural actions to reconstruct the accident and determine its causes. The road was fully blocked for several hours, with three fire crews (two from Sochaczew and one from Wólka Smolana), ZRM, and police under prosecutor supervision at the scene.
