Deadly Shooting in Lubin: Suspect Found Dead

A manhunt for a 21-year-old suspect ended on Friday when police discovered the individual, who had died by suicide as officers approached him in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, a shooting occurred in a residential apartment block in the Przylesie district of Lubin. The incident resulted in two deaths, while a third person was hospitalized.

Manhunt and Discovery

A massive search for the 21-year-old suspect, involving a helicopter from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters, had been ongoing since Wednesday. On Friday, May 15, police were alerted to an unidentified man staying in a public shelter in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

As officers approached the location, the suspect took his own life with a firearm. Authorities confirmed that the deceased was the individual sought in connection with the Lubin shooting.

Ongoing Investigation

The case is now under the jurisdiction of the prosecutor’s office, with police declining to provide further details citing the integrity of the investigation. While media reports suggest links to the Zagłębie Lubin fan community and potential drug-related motives, official sources have not yet confirmed these details.
