Defilada Szacunu parade honoring Polish Home Army will disrupt traffic in Warsaw on February 14, 2026.
Parade Details
On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance of Polish Home Army soldiers on Saturday, February 14, the Defilada Szacunu will march along the Royal Route. Streets including Nowy Świat and sections of Jerusalem Avenue and Świętokrzyska will be closed.
Defilada Szacunu, under the slogan “In Love with Poland,” will depart at 12:00 from the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument. Participants, including the last remaining Polish Home Army soldiers, will proceed along Nowy Świat Street, through De Gaulle Roundabout and Three Crosses Square, along Ujazdowskie Avenue, and along Matejki Street to the Polish Home Army and Polish Underground State Monument. Official ceremonies will be held there. Two buses, including an antique 1932 Somua vehicle, will also transport veterans to the Sejm.
Traffic Disruptions
On Friday, February 13, from 6:00, parking will not be permitted on Matejki Street between Wiejska and the entrance to the Canadian Embassy. At 8:00, traffic through this area will also be restricted until 22:00 on Saturday, February 14.
On Saturday, February 14, from 10:30, Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat streets will be closed from Tokarzewski-Karaszewicza to De Gaulle Roundabout. Królewska Street will be disconnected from Krakowskie Przedmieście. At the same time, Świętokrzyska Street will be closed between Mazowiecka and Copernika. Only vehicles traveling to Copernika Street and the children’s hospital will be permitted to travel up Tamka Street. From Marszałkowska, drivers will be directed to Mazowiecka Street.
From 11:30, there will be no passage on Jerusalem Avenue between Krucza and Poniatowski Bridge. Vehicles approaching from the Praga side will be diverted to Wisłostrada, with no entry from Wisłostrada toward the center. Additional closures include another section of Nowy Świat, Three Crosses Square, and Ujazdowskie Avenue from Three Crosses Square to Piękna. Drivers cannot travel on Książęca, Żurawia, or Hoża streets from Krucza to Three Crosses Square. The section of Wilcza Street between Mokotowska and Ujazdowskie Avenues will also be closed, as will Wiejska from Piękna to Matejki.
Public Transportation Changes
On Saturday, February 14, from 10:30, buses on routes 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, 503, and the “In Love Bus” (W26) will not operate along the Royal Route from Castle Square to De Gaulle Roundabout.
From 11:30, public transport buses will not travel the section from Castle Square to Piękna. Lines 108, 117, 118, 127, 131, 158, 166, 171, 507, 517, and 521 will operate on detour routes.
From 11:30, trams will not operate on Jerusalem Avenue. Lines 7, 9, 22, and 24 will terminate at the Starynkiewicza loop on the city center side. Meanwhile, on the Praga side, trams 7 and 22 will travel along Washington Avenue to Wiatraczna Roundabout, while lines 9 and 22 will proceed along Zieleniecka Avenue to the loop at the Powszechny Theatre. Bus and tram services will return to normal routes around 12:45.
