Polish prosecutors have indicted Adam Andruszkiewicz, a deputy chief of the presidential chancellery, accusing him of leading a forgery operation involving voter support lists in 2014.
Allegations of Forgery
Prosecutors allege that Adam Andruszkiewicz, while leading the All-Polish Youth movement, directed the forgery of lists of support for candidates nominated by the National Movement electoral committee in the Podlaskie Voivodeship district between September 15th and October 6th, 2014.
The indictment has been submitted to the court, according to Lublin Regional Prosecutor Beata Syk-Jankowska.
Suspects and Confessions
The indictment names Andruszkiewicz and two other men. Wojciech N. initially denied involvement but later confessed. Paweł P. admitted to the crime, providing statements consistent with the established facts.
All three face up to five years in prison.
Filling the Support Lists
The two men who confessed admitted to filling out the support lists, using an “illegally created database” to complete the required fields.
Prosecution’s Case
Prosecutors state that evidence suggests Andruszkiewicz, as leader of the All-Polish Youth, issued instructions related to the creation of forged support lists for the November 16, 2014 elections. This conclusion is based on consistent statements from Paweł P., Andruszkiewicz’s leadership role within the organization, and witness testimony.
Forensic handwriting analysis indicated the possibility that Adam A. signed some of the lists, and that many signatures on the lists were unsuitable for comparative analysis.
Lengthy Investigation
The investigation began in November 2014, initiated after a notification from the Regional Electoral Commission in Białystok. The case was initially handled by the Białystok-Południe District Prosecutor’s Office, then transferred to the Białystok District Prosecutor’s Office in 2016.
In February 2019, the investigation was moved to the Lublin Regional Prosecutor’s Office, which assigned the case to the Lublin District Prosecutor’s Office. The Lublin Regional Prosecutor’s Office resumed the investigation in October 2024.
