Deputy Minister Przydacz Accuses Sikorski of Foreign Ministry ‘Paralysis’

Ahead of a meeting at the Presidential Palace, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz has accused Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski of causing a state of dysfunction in Poland’s foreign service, calling for an end to administrative paralysis created by Sikorski’s unilateral ambassador decisions.

Przydacz’s Accusations

During a press conference, Przydacz criticized Sikorski’s handling of ambassador replacements and related paralysis within the foreign ministry, stating, “Mr. President, it is crucial to end the paralysis that was created by Minister Sikorski’s decisions.”

50 Ambassador Removals

The current conflict dates back to March 2024, when Sikorski decided to terminate the missions of over 50 ambassadors. The minister emphasized that as head of the ministry, he had the right to make personnel decisions, with the President’s role being to implement the foreign policy pursued by the government.

Talks Continue

Tensions between the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been ongoing since the ambassador removals. The dispute is centered around personnel decisions and the appointment of representatives in diplomatic posts.
