Detained After Chase: Audi Driver Had 1.5 Promile Alcohol

Police chased an Audi driver who refused to stop for a routine check in Wróblewo, Poland, discovering he had 1.5 promile alcohol in his system.

Speed Check Leads to Chase

On Tuesday, February 3, police from Mława were conducting a speed check in Wróblewo. They noticed an Audi A6 traveling from Mława at 114 km/h in a built-up area where the speed limit was 50 km/h.

Despite orders to stop for the police check, the driver did not respond and attempted to flee. Police immediately gave chase, using their lights and sirens. After several kilometers, the car was stopped on a country road.

High Alcohol Content Discovered

It quickly became clear why the driver refused to stop. A breathalyzer test showed he had over 1.5 promile of alcohol in his system. Police revoked the man’s driving license and towed the vehicle.

The 27-year-old resident of Radzanów municipality was taken to the Mława District Police Headquarters.

Criminal Charges Filed

The driver faces criminal charges for failing to stop for a police check and driving under the influence. These offenses carry penalties including fines, restriction of liberty, or imprisonment up to 5 years, as well as a mandatory driving ban.

The driver has already been formally charged. The case will be adjudicated in court.
