Diabetics in Poland may be eligible for a care allowance of 215.84 zł per month starting in 2026, dependent on health documentation and disability status.
Eligibility for the Care Allowance in 2026
The care allowance is intended to help cover the costs of care for individuals with diabetes. Unlike many other benefits, there is no income criterion for this allowance.
Those who meet the health and age requirements will receive the funds.
Legal Basis
The care allowance is granted to partially cover expenses resulting from the need to provide care and assistance to another person due to the inability to self-subsist (Article 16 paragraph 1 of the Act of November 28, 2003, on family benefits).
Diabetes and Disability Assessment: When Do You Have a Chance of Receiving Funds?
A diagnosis of diabetes does not automatically qualify an individual for a disability assessment. Officials primarily consider how the disease affects the patient’s independence.
Adults have the best chance of receiving the allowance when they have experienced serious health complications.
Amount of the Care Allowance in 2026
The current allowance rate is only 215.84 zł per month. Despite rising living costs, this amount will not be indexed and will remain at the current level in 2026.
Experts indicate that the next opportunity to increase the amount of this benefit will not arise until 2027 or 2028 at the earliest.
