“DIRT, FLOORS FLOODED”: POLICE OFFICER EXPOSES WORKING CONDITIONS

Police officer in Tolkmicko complains about station conditions, sparking disciplinary action against his commander.

Officer’s Complaint

A police officer from Tolkmicko (Elbląg county, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) revealed the challenges he faces in his work. His complaint included issues like “dirt in the station, floors flooded” and lack of cleaning staff for three months.

The officer explained that his superior reprimanded him for “Friday service results” not being sent due to a system failure, which he claimed was the last straw in a series of problems.

Viral Recording

In a recording published by Elbląg Without Censorship on Facebook, the officer stated: “For three months there’s no stoker and cleaner, and once the results didn’t go through and what a f***ing problem at this command, right? You have to stoke the furnace every day, come f***ing on days off.”

The officer also mentioned an unshoveled yard at the station and ended with an expletive about not sending the results.

Administrative Response

Voivodeship Police Commander in Olsztyn Insp. Mirosław Elszkowski summoned the officer for a conversation and ordered an investigation into the problems.

The officer explained he devotes his free time to maintain working conditions in the building and had intended the recording as private correspondence, not public.

Disciplinary Action

The Voivodeship Police Commander decided to initiate proceedings for the dismissal of the City Police Commander in Elblągu, citing insufficient actions that led to neglect affecting working conditions.

The police stated that the commander’s actions had a negative impact on the functioning of the District Police Station in Tolkmicko and the conditions for service there.
