On 30 November about 9:20 a.m., police in Ciechanów were informed that a dog had boarded a Koleje Mazowieckie train without supervision.

The animal disembarked at Ciechanów station, where officers intervened.

Police Collect the Animal

ASP Magda Sakowska reported the dog was calm, not aggressive, and took a passenger seat during the journey.

Transfer to Shelter and Owner Retrieval

After the stop, the dog was taken to a shelter in Pawłów, from which the owner later collected it.

Owners Urged to Secure Animals

Police warned that owners must ensure pets cannot escape onto public roads, citing safety and legal risks.

Improper securing can lead to escape, traffic incidents, or bites, and may attract criminal penalties under Article 77 of the Polish Code of Offences.

Possible Legal Implications

Persons failing to exercise due caution with pets face imprisonment, reprimand, or fines up to 1,000 zł.
