Students at Warsaw’s SGH will launch the 40th Wampiriada, a blood‑donation campaign, from November 24‑26, 2025, at the university’s parking lot.
What Is Wampiriada?
Every drop of blood matters and can change someone’s life. One donation can save up to three people. The 40th Wampiriada, organized by the Independent Students’ Union at Warsaw’s SGH, invites participants to donate blood and join the honor‑blood‑donation movement.
When and Where?
The final of the 40th Wampiriada will run for three days—November 24, 25 and 26, 2025—on the SGH parking lot. A special booth will also be located in the central Auli Spadochronowej where organizers and partners will hand out gifts to donors.
Registration Is Required for Blood Donation
Sign‑ups will appear on Facebook a few days before the event. Because spots are limited, not signing up in advance may prevent you from donating.
Why Donate Blood?
Blood is a vital substance that makes the human body function normally. It represents about 9‑10 % of body weight; a healthy adult carries around five litres. Donating a small amount—450 ml—poses no danger to the donor and can save up to three people.
Donors Also Receive Benefits
Successful donors may take two days off from work or school. During donation, routine laboratory tests are conducted, and donors receive the results. A chocolate reward is provided as a caloric equivalent to compensate for the donation.
Who Can Donate?
Any healthy person aged 18‑65 who weighs at least 50 kg can donate. Donors should be well‑rested, have eaten a light meal, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol 24 h before, avoid fatty foods, limit intense exercise, and reduce smoking.
