Driver Faces Charges: Pursuit, Intoxication, and Crash

Hubert K. has been charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and causing a crash injuring two passengers, following incidents on April 4, 2026.

Initial Charges and Pursuit

The Pruszków District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating Hubert K. regarding events from April 4, 2026. Charges include failing to stop for a traffic control, driving under the influence of alcohol and amphetamine despite court bans, and causing an accident resulting in injuries to two passengers.

The initial incident occurred in Krosna-Wieś, Pruszków County, where Hubert K., driving an Audi, allegedly failed to comply with police signals to stop.

Driving Under the Influence

Investigators state that on the same day, the suspect drove while intoxicated and under the influence of amphetamine on the S2 and S7 routes, and at the Zakręt interchange. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.81 per mille.

Prosecutors allege he significantly exceeded speed limits and recklessly endangered other road users, potentially causing death or serious injury.

Prior Convictions and Bans

Hubert K. allegedly committed these offenses despite a prior conviction for driving under the influence and existing court-ordered bans on operating any motor vehicle, issued by courts in Mińsk Mazowiecki and Pruszków.

Accident at Zakręt Interchange

A further charge relates to an accident on the S17 route at the Zakręt interchange. While intoxicated and under the influence of drugs, the driver of the Audi allegedly failed to adjust his speed to the conditions and collided with concrete barriers.

Two passengers sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.

Suspect’s Admission and Plea

Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba, Press Spokesperson for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, stated that Hubert K. admitted to all charges and provided extensive statements corroborating the evidence.

The suspect has requested to voluntarily accept a two-year prison sentence, a lifetime driving ban, and a payment of 15,000 zł to the Victim Assistance and Post-Penitentiary Assistance Fund.

Preventive Measures and Supervision

A police supervision order has been imposed on Hubert K., requiring him to report weekly to the Brwinów Police Station. He is also prohibited from leaving the country and contacting victims or witnesses.

Additionally, a substitute imprisonment order for previous offenses is being enforced, and the applied preventive measures will be subject to supervisory oversight by the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office.
