Driver Faces Double ZUS Contribution for Dual Monthly Payments

A Polish driver owes twice the standard ZUS social security contribution after receiving two separate payments within a single month.

Dual Payment Situation

The driver received two distinct payments from the same employer during one calendar month. This scenario triggers an application of the ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) contribution rules for multiple payments.

ZUS regulations specify that when an employee receives more than one payment in a month, contributions are calculated based on the total income from all payments received during that month, rather than applying the standard contribution rate to each payment individually.

Contribution Calculation Logic

The total income from both payments is aggregated. The social security contribution is then calculated on this aggregate amount. This results in a higher contribution compared to if the payments had been made in separate months under the standard regime.

This calculation method ensures contributions align with the actual monthly income received, regardless of how many discrete payments constitute that income.
