A Ford car collided with a Warsaw bus on Thursday, with the driver fleeing and leaving an injured passenger at the scene.
Accident Details
On Thursday, January 15th around 14:40 on Wawelska Street in Warsaw, near number 5 at the Skra sports center, there was a serious collision between a Ford car traveling toward Praga and a municipal bus line 143, after which the driver fled on foot.
Initial Findings
From initial findings, it appears that the driver of the Ford, for unknown reasons, hit the back of bus line 143, which was at the initial stop. There were no passengers in the municipal vehicle – only the driver was inside.
Witness Accounts
Witnesses reported that the driver of the Ford did not brake before the collision and hit the back of the bus at an estimated speed of around 60 km/h. Emergency services including fire department, police and medical rescue team were called to the scene.
Emergency Response
Firefighters secured the scene, neutralized operating fluids and handed over the injured passenger to the medical rescue team. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the hospital.
Police Investigation
The Metropolitan Police Headquarters reported that the driver of the vehicle left the scene, abandoning the car and the injured passenger. Police are working to determine the identity of the Ford driver and the circumstances of the collision and escape.
